Questions & Answers
The details, considered.
A few of the things couples and hosts most often ask before we begin. If your question isn't here, we're always happy to talk it through.
Yes! Island Impressions is supported by a small, trusted team of planners and coordinators. Depending on your event, package, location, and coverage needs, your celebration may be supported by our Founder & Lead Planner, Lead Coordinator, Associate Coordinator, or additional event assistants.
We intentionally keep our team small so every celebration still feels personal, organized, and connected.
Your pre-planning is led by Hannah, Founder & Lead Planner of Island Impressions. She'll guide the planning process, help you work through logistics, answer questions, and ensure the details are organized before your event.
If another member of our team will be leading your event day, they'll be brought into the process before the celebration and familiarized with your plans, timeline, vendors, and priorities.
Absolutely. If Hannah is not personally leading your event day, you'll be introduced to your Lead Coordinator in advance.
Depending on your collection, they may also join your final planning meeting and/or venue walkthrough so you feel comfortable and confident with the person leading your day.
Yes. While our collections are designed around the most common levels of support our clients need, not every celebration fits neatly into a package.
We can create custom planning and coordination proposals based on your event, location, planning progress, coverage requirements, and the areas where you need the most support.
Not at all! Alongside weddings, we offer planning and coordination for private celebrations, milestone events, showers, corporate and community events, retreats, parties, and other thoughtfully planned gatherings.
If you're bringing people together, there's a good chance we can help.
Island Impressions is based in Campbell River and provides wedding and event services throughout Vancouver Island and surrounding communities.
Travel fees may apply depending on your event location, travel requirements, ferry access, accommodation needs, and the length of coverage required. These details will always be discussed before booking.
Of course. You're welcome to come to us at any stage of the planning process. We're happy to step into an existing vendor team, get familiar with what has already been arranged, and help bring everything together.
We can also provide vendor recommendations if there are still pieces of your team to book.
Planning is about building the event — helping with decisions, logistics, vendors, design direction, timelines, details, and all of the moving pieces leading up to the day.
Coordination is about bringing those plans to life — confirming details, organizing the timeline, communicating with vendors, overseeing transitions, managing setup, troubleshooting, and keeping the event moving smoothly.
Many of our services include a combination of both.
Yes! Island Impressions has a growing collection of event décor and styling pieces that can be added to weddings and events, including display pillars, lounge pieces, tabletop décor, and our new oversized floral installations.
Our floral collection includes statement paper flowers designed to create beautiful ceremony, photo, entrance, and feature installations without the cost or logistics of traditional large-scale florals. Different configurations and add-ons are available depending on your space and vision.
Absolutely. Our rental and styling pieces can be incorporated into your event proposal, making it easier to coordinate your planning, décor, delivery, setup, and teardown through one team.
If you're not sure what would work in your space, we can also recommend pieces and configurations based on your venue, colour palette, layout, and overall event style.
No — it's still your celebration.
Our role is to bring experience, organization, guidance, and calm to the process while keeping your priorities at the centre. We'll make recommendations when needed, ask the questions you may not have thought of, and handle the behind-the-scenes logistics so you can be more present for the parts that matter.
The earlier, the better — particularly for weddings and larger events — but you don't need to have everything figured out before contacting us.
In fact, that's often exactly when having a planner is most helpful. Tell us what you know, what you're unsure about, and where you're feeling stuck. We can take it from there.
